Visa is Now Required for Thailand!
Since 2025 all tourists require a visa to enter Thailand.
There are many scam pages, the correct online toursit visa is for free and here:
https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home
The e-visa can be applied for no earlier than 90 days before your planned arrival in Thailand.
Is Thailand safe?
Thailand is generally safe and is even ranked as the safest country in Southeast Asia. Still, a little caution and common sense never hurt. It’s probably one of the easiest countries to travel in, and Thais are usually incredibly friendly.
Just a heads-up: if you ask a Thai person something and they don’t know the answer, they might make something up on the spot to save face. You probably won’t even notice – they’re that smooth! But don’t worry – everything is so relaxed and easygoing, there’s really no need to get upset. That’s just part of the charm. And with that mindset, nothing will stand between you and your dream vacation!
Malaria Prophylaxe
Generally, there is little to no risk of malaria in major tourist areas like Bangkok. and there is no high risk of malaria on Koh Samet. While mosquitoes are present, malaria transmission is not a significant concern on the island. The primary mosquito-borne disease to be aware of is dengue fever! Malaria prophylaxis for Thailand requires a prescription and can be obtained in Germany from a doctor or a travel medicine clinic. These medications are not
available in Thailand because they are not approved there.
Therefore, if you feel unsure - medical advice from a doctor is
recommended - we don't take any with us!

Otherwise we can also recommend Thai Airlines, which is a fast direct flight between FRA & BKK. We have flown economy many times, and it was good. Normally, we tried to get the seats with
extra legroom (extra charge).

Why are we not flying on Friedi's Birthday?
The reason we are organising this in March instead of when Friedi has his Birthday in February is because March is the end of the High Season. Everything is a lot cheaper and quieter - although the temperature will be heating up. But to be honest, it's pretty much over 30C every day anyway, so it doesn't make that much of a difference if it's 31C or 35C, it's still just hot, ha, ha!
Vaccinations
For travel to Thailand, several vaccinations are generally recommended. These include routine vaccinations like tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), as well as vaccines against hepatitis A and typhoid, which are food and waterborne illnesses. Depending on your itinerary and activities, you may also need to consider vaccines for hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, and rabies.
